Refugees in Afghanistan
War and escalating violence have displaced thousands from their homes in recent months and there are currently thousands of immigrants, the majority of whom are children and women in Kabul
According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, a number of people have been displaced from 29 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces since January 2021. About 60% of these IDPs are children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Afghanistan’s misery has caused a major recession and the Afghan Currency has devalued causing a huge increase in food and clothing prices, adding to the misery of the poor, the needy, and the homeless families, and the displaced.
These displaced people coming into Kabul are from different provinces of Afghanistan and the people of Ghor, Balkh, Bamyan, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Ghazni, Daikundi, Herat and Maidan Wardak are among them.
We have managed through the help of generous momineen to secure only one large house so far in Kabul to accommodate around 10 families and are in urgent need of donations to arrange for more urgently needed temporary housing
We appeal to all momineen to heed to calls of help for the momineen in Afghanistan through the Imam Hussein Foundation located in North Watford in order to assist the needy.
